Since 2015, Mara Childers and Kimberly Joseph have been respectively providing skilled Occupational and Speech Therapy services to Eastern Kentucky. Our Story
Bluegrass Therapy is owned and operated by sisters and Floyd county natives, Mara Biliter Childers and Kimberly Biliter Joseph.
Mara is a licensed Occupational Therapist. She graduated from Eastern Kentucky University in 2015. Mara has experience in an array of settings including: outpatient therapy, in-patient Rehab , and First Steps (Birth to age three). Special certifications include: Autism Specialist and Deep Physical Agent Modalities (DPAM). Mara resides in Floyd County with her husband Dr. Leyton Childers, D.C. and their three children Krew, Kainen, and Paxton.
Kimberly is a licensed Speech Therapist who graduated from Marshall in 2015. Kim has experience in an array of settings including: pediatric outpatient, home health, and skilled nursing facility. Special certifications include: Patterned Electrical Neuromuscular Stimulation (PENS). Kim resides in Magoffin County with her husband Farley Joseph and their two children, Riverlynd and Heidi.
Our team is ready to provide outpatient Occupational and Speech therapy services to a demographically diverse population from pediatrics to geriatrics with a commitment to quality care.

We have the experience and skills necessary to tackle just about every type of condition/diagnosis that comes our way. With Bluegrass Therapy, clients know exactly what to expect - professionalism, efficiency and exceptional results.
Occupational therapy can help adults with a variety of conditions, including the following: amputations, arthritis, dementia, brain injury, alzheimer's, carpal tunnel syndrome, CVA/stroke, spinal injury, orthopedic conditions of the upper extremities (shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, fingers), and multiple sclerosis.
Speech Therapy can treat speech and swallowing impairments caused by a variety of conditions, including the following: stroke, traumatic brain injury, degenerative neurological or motor disorder, injury or illness that affects your vocal cords, and dementia.

We collaborate with families to provide recommendations and encourage carry over of implemented strategies.
Your child is not their diagnosis or condition. Each child is unique and has the potential to shine in their own individual way.
Our clinicians are familiar with treating children with the following conditions/diagnosis: Asperger's, ADHD, Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Down's Syndrome, Developmental delay, Dyspraxia, learning impairments, Spina Bifida, and Sensory Processing Disorder.
